With Luke Walton Out, Here’s Frontrunner For Lakers Head Coaching Job

Walton replaces Dave Joerger, who was sacked on Thursday after he compiled a record of 98-148 with the Kings. He won two previous titles as a deep reserve with the Lakers, in 2000 and 2001.

A move to Sacramento then, with its young, raw roster, may be a better fit for Walton heading forward.

The team was 26-56 in Walton's first season in 2016-17 before improving to 35-47 in 2017-18.

Luke Walton outlasted Magic Johnson - by three days.

"I want to thank Jeanie Buss and the Buss family for giving me the opportunity to coach the Lakers", Walton said in a statement issued by the Lakers.

Walton, 39, parted company with the Lakers on Friday in what was described by the team as a mutual separation.

Through it all, the Lakers were 20-14 after beating the Warriors in Oakland on Christmas Day, the game in which James was initially injured. Johnson and many fans had problems with everything from Walton's playing time decisions and curious rotations to his reported reluctance to add new assistants with fresh perspectives to his bench. As only the top eight teams in each conference make the playoffs, the Lakers will miss the postseason.

The Samsung Galaxy A40 has a 5.9-inch Full HD+ (1080 x 2220) display with a Super AMOLED panel producing punchy, bright visuals. The main highlight of the device is its camera module that not only slides up from the rear but also rotates automatically.

If the Lakers have already signed their new head coach by the time you are reading this you can still apply the things we list and determine whether or not the new coach displays these traits.

The Kings showed much growth and improvement in the 2018-19 season, finishing the season with a record of 39-43, a 12-game improvement from the year before.

"I think Luke did a hell of a job with what he had, the cards he was dealt", point guard Rajon Rondo said.

Rondo, who is on the sixth team of his career, praised Walton for his ability to relate to players.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, former Cleveland Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue is considered a "strong frontrunner" for the Lakers' open job.

The 47-year-old Williams appears to be a hot commodity this year in coaching searches, as he was also a rumored target for the new Kings coach opening.
