Trump rips into #FakeMelania conspiracy - convinces theorists it’s ‘real’

Since 2017, there has been speculation First Lady Melania Trump occasionally sends a body double out with her husband for official engagements.

Fox & Friends aired a clip of The View co-host Joy Behar arguing that a woman who recently accompanied President Donald Trump to visit a tornado-ravaged region of Alabama did not look like Melania Trump.

Trump blames the so-called "fake news" for altering the photos and says "they are only getting more deranged with time!". The hashtag made it's first appearance a couple of years ago, and has resurfaced once or twice, including last week after a photo from the Trumps visiting a memorial was tweeted and went viral. "Instead, they go after her", Trump said Monday.

"They are only getting more deranged with time!" said Trump.

One host surmised Melania might have been wearing flats.

"@flotus & @potus traveled to Alabama to pay their respects & comfort victims of the tornado devastation".

Siim Kiisler, the Estonian environment minister, said: "We have lost fellow delegates, interpreters and United Nations staff". Also on the flight was Isabella Beryl Achie, from Homabay county about 300 kilometres west of Nairobi.

Several factors can influence the way people appear in photos, including the angle at which the photos are taken, the type of camera lens that is used and the positioning of the photographer, said Akili Ramsess, executive director of the National Press Photographers Association.

"If our first lady, if I were a Democrat instead of a Republican, she'd be Jackie O times 20".

The conspiracy theory even featured in a segment on the popular chat show "The View". "All Fake, she is doing really well!"

The first lady's spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham called the show's joking on the subject "shameful".

"People died, people lost family and people are hurting in Alabama", Grisham added in her statement.
