MEPs sign letter urging Pakistan, India to resolve issues through dialogue

United Nations chief Antonio Guterres is "continually" monitoring the situation between India and Pakistan and his office is available to both parties, his spokesperson has said.

The Indian navy's statement came in response to a video released by Pakistan of what it claimed was an Indian submarine trying to enter its territorial waters.

Citing the recent contacts, he said that some other countries like China, the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates were also convincing Pakistan and India to break the ice. "Give us peace and we will want nothing else", she said.

India on February 26 had bombed the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed's (JeM) biggest training camp in Balakot in retaliation to the February 14 Kashmir suicide bombing that killed 40 CRPF troopers and was claimed by the terror group.

Pakistan on Thursday said it will "soon" respond to a dossier handed over to it by India on "specific details" of involvement of the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) in the deadly Pulwama terror attack as also the presence of camps of the UN-proscribed terror outfit in the country. Later, India carried out an air strike across the Line of Control.

He said the JeM facility at Balakot was headed by Maulana Yousuf Azhar, the brother-in-law of Masood Azhar, the chief of JeM. The daylong visit to Pakistan yesterday by Saudi Minister for Foreign Affairs Adel al-Jubeir also resulted in assurances to Foreign Minister Qureshi of Riyadh's complete and overwhelming support towards solving the issues with India in a peaceful manner.

A strict vigil is being maintained along the LoC and the global border and any further "provocation or misadventure by Pakistan will be responded in a befitting manner with dire consequences", the statement added.
