Here's Your First Look at the Disc-Less Xbox One S

Why it matters: Microsoft is reportedly adding even more value to its disc-less Xbox One S by bundling download codes for three hit games. The no-disc variant looks virtually identical to the Xbox One S, save for the lack of a disc drive in the center.

So when will we see the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition out in the wild?

According to a new report from Windows Central, the so-called Xbox One S All-Digital Edition will launch worldwide on May 7, 2019. From what they can tell it will not come with an automatic subscription to Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass service.

The cheaper Xbox One is set to launch ahead of the release dates of a number of highly anticipated exclusives - Halo Infinite and Gears of War 5.

So maybe refrain from buying an Xbox console for the time being and when we know more, so will you. Following the console's announcement, Microsoft is hoping to have a global rollout in May. That information was made available to Windows Central by documents they received, the report said.

Windows Central also suggests that this console will have the lowest RRP of all current models, although we don't have specifics on pricing.

How much will the Xbox One S All-Digital cost?

It's early days to discuss features coming to the new Disc-less Xbox One S, but obviously it's going to be minus a Blu-ray drive. Last month HEXUS updated readers on the disc-less console. And the original product shots obtained by Windows Central apparently point to the new Xbox having a 1TB HDD and bundling games like Forza Horizon 3, Sea of Thieves and Minecraft. Instead of posting those images, they've recreated them in Photoshop to protect the origins of the photos.
