FBI Arrested Actress Felicity Huffman With Guns Drawn, Report Says

Parents paid as little as $15,000 and as much as $6 million to benefit from Singer's operation.

And sure enough sources "familiar with Huffman's arrest" told the paper that Federal Bureau of Investigation agents showed up at her home on Tuesday morning (LA time) with guns drawn to take her into custody.

Federal agents secretly recorded telephone calls with Huffman and a cooperating witness, which allegedly show Huffman agreeing to pay the large sum of money in order to help her daughter get a higher SAT score, according to the indictment.

They've also charged coaches, college test administrators and alleged mastermind William Singer of Newport Beach, California.

Huffman, who is best known for her role in "Desperate Housewives", and Loughlin, who is best known as Aunt Becky from "Full House", were both charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud.

At a brief court appearance Wednesday, a judge allowed Loughlin to be released on $1 million bond and travel to the area around Vancouver, Canada, to work but otherwise imposed strict travel restrictions.

She is scheduled to reappear in court March 29 in Boston.

Authorities who accused dozens of super-wealthy parents of paying bribes to get their kids into elite US colleges say the investigation isn't over.

Prosecutors say they have no indication the schools knew anything about the plan. Loughlin, 54, has not yet been arrested but Giannulli will need to post a $1 million bond to get out. The consultant also hired ringers to take college entrance exams for students, and paid off insiders at testing centers to correct students' answers.

Singer used the money to bribe officials at various schools, including Georgetown, Stanford, UCLA, USC, the University of San Diego, the University of Texas, Wake Forest, and Yale.

Huffman has been charged with felony conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud, according to federal court documents filed Monday in MA.

"We're not talking about donating a building so a school is more likely to take your son or daughter, we're talking about deception or fraud", Lelling said.

No students have been charged, with authorities saying that in many cases the teenagers were unaware of what was going on.

Big names such as actresses Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin headline the list of some 50 people charged in documents released Tuesday that describe a scheme to cheat the admissions process at eight sought-after schools.

Rudy Meredith, who was the Yale women's soccer coach for 24 years, is accused of receiving $400,000 to accept a recruit despite knowing she did not play competitive soccer.

Singer ended up cooperating with investigators previous year, helping them record incriminating conversations he had with Loughlin, Henriquez and other parents. The actress is famously married to Emmy-winning actor William H. Macy, and many people are now asking why he didn't get charged like his wife did. Court documents say Vavic was paid $250,000 and designated two students as recruits for his team to facilitate their admission.
