Everything You Need to Know About the New AirPods 2

This week's announcements, which include new versions of the iPad Mini, the iPad Air, the iMac and Apple's AirPods, were made quietly, through press releases posted early in the morning. Nonetheless, today we are going to check out everything there is to know about Apple's new AirPods 2.

Along with easy charing, there's also a new H1 chip tucked inside which delivers performance efficiencies, faster connect times, more talk time and the convenience of hands-free "Hey Siri".

The AirPods covers are available in black or white, and each set comes with three pairs plus a carry case. If you're not looking to upgrade your current AirPods, you can consider getting the new Wireless Charging Case instead. If you thought that the first generation AirPods were slightly slower to connect and switch between devices then Apple claims the new AirPods offer two times faster connect times.

Of course, you'll need to remove the connector before you can charge your AirPods, but for the peace-of-mind they offer we think the minor inconvenience is probably worth it.

Israel says Gaza rocket strikes home in central Israel
Mishmeret is more than 80 kilometres from the Gaza Strip and rocket fire from the Palestinian enclave at that distance is rare. The rocket attack, which came a little after 5am, directly hit a family home on Moshav Mishmeret in the center of the country.

Nevertheless, AirPower never came to life post-production, and with this, the first gen version of AirPod didn't support wireless charging. As you'd expect, iOS is reporting not only the wireless status of the iPhone, but of the earbuds and the AirPods case individually. This is a nice feature because the only way to access Siri's features on the original AirPods is to tap one of the ear buds.

The previous generation of AirPods had the W1 chip which has now been replaced with the H1 chip, which provides up to an extra hour of talk time, better mic clarity, and connection times twice as fast when switching between devices.

The Apple product surprises keep rolling out this week. Both cases carry enough charge for more than 24 hours of total listening time. You can also opt to purchase the wireless charging case separately for $70 in case the charging part intrigues you and you don't want to do a full upgrade. An LED light indicator located on the front of the case shows the charge status.

Beyond battery life, the most significant addition is that of hands-free "Hey Siri" functionality. In fact, he enjoyed it so much that he even went as far to change his profile name to "Tim Apple".
