Donald Trump: Michael Cohen rats on president in echoes of Watergate scandal

Cohen on Thursday spent nearly eight hours behind closed doors with members of the House Intelligence Committee.

Cohen broke with Trump previous year and pleaded guilty to charges including that he lied to Congress about a Trump real estate project in Russian Federation and made prohibited campaign contributions in the form of payments to two women who say they had affairs with Trump.

Adam Schiff, the chairman of the House intelligence committee, separately announced on Thursday that the former Trump associate Felix Sater will come before his panel on 14 March.

On Thursday, Elijah Cummings, the head of the House Oversight Committee that grilled Michael Cohen Wednesday, announced that he meant to speak with the president's eldest son and daughter, after Cohen claimed that both Donald Trump Jr. and Ivanka Trump had been briefed "approximately 10" times about the Trump Tower Moscow project.

In a tweet, President Trump said Cohen's manuscript was a "love letter" to him and said Congress should demand the manuscript as evidence Cohen's testimony this week was "fraudulent" and "dishonest".

And Cohen asserted that lawyers for Trump and his family reviewed and edited his written testimony to Congress in 2017 in which he lied about the Moscow real estate deal.

"He did and he made the decision", Trump said to Hannity.

Trump said, "As far as Cohen is concerned, he's convicted".

Democrats believe Cohen has details about how long into the 2016 campaign Trump pursued plans to build a tower in Moscow, the extent to which Trump knew what WikiLeaks had planned, and whether Trump committed financial crimes with banks or campaign finance violations.

Avenatti, who is representing one of Kelly's victims in this case, lashed out a Greenberg on Saturday. The R&B singer secured his release by paying 10 percent of his $1 million bail amount.

Obviously, Cohen isn't the first person to call Trump a racist, but he does say Trump is "worse" behind closed doors.

He said prosecutors in NY were investigating conversations Trump or his advisers had with him after his office and hotel room were raided by the Federal Bureau of Investigation last April.

Weisselberg was granted immunity previous year to testify before a grand jury in the SDNY's investigation into Trump and Cohen.

Cohen testified that Weisselberg told him he'd be reimbursed for the payment in 12 monthly installments totalling $420,000, which included a bonus and covered some of Cohen's taxes and other work he'd done for Trump. She sent an email to supporters asking them to sign a petition urging President Donald Trump and future presidents to not pardon anyone connected to the Russian Federation probe, The Hill reported.

Though the elder Trump has assiduously denied it, Cohen says he was told to pay off adult film star Stormy Daniels to keep her from going public about a 2006 sexual encounter with the future president.

Cohen said prosecutors in NY were investigating conversations Trump or his advisers had with him after his office and hotel room were raided by the Federal Bureau of Investigation last April.

"He set a very rich table", Democrat representative Gerald Connolly said of Mr Cohen.

He also accused Trump of directing him to do things by "secret code" - not outright telling him to do things but communicating in a code by which he knew exactly what Trump wanted. Mr Cohen is facing a prison sentence of three years, in part for previously lying to Congress. He called himself a "fool", warned lawmakers of the perils of blind loyalty to a leader undeserving of it and pronounced himself ashamed of what he had done to protect Trump.

Sater, who worked with Cohen on the project while Trump was running for president, has said he and Cohen at one point talked about giving a 50 million USA dollars penthouse to Russian President Vladimir Putin as a way to justify raising the prices of other units in the envisioned tower. "I think that's an area that should be looked at because I think the foundation has been used by him to avoid paying taxes on money he's earned".
