Democrats target Trump family, friends in sweeping new probe

During his time at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Cobb was reportedly in favor of the possibility of the president sitting down for an interview with Mueller, which never occurred, and encouraged the commander-in-chief and his legal team to take a cooperative approach to the special counsel's investigation.

Aside from the White House, the panel sent its requests for documents to the Justice Department; senior campaign officials; the Trump Organization, the president's global business empire, and his two oldest sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump. "There is abundant evidence of collusion", House Intelligence Committee Chairman Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., said on CBS Sunday. So now the Democratic plan is coming into sharper relief.

"W$3 e request that the Department of Justice open an immediate investigation to determine if Mr Kushner is criminally liable for his false statements", the letter said.

Those inquiries are in addition to the investigation by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, who is expected to file his report soon. So House Democrats are pursuing a range of other options.

And after Nadler requested documents from the 81 Trump-related associates and entities, Jordan fired off a tweet - that has been scorned as anti-Semitic - where he accused Nadler of succumbing to pressure from "Tom $teyer" to impeach Trump without evidence.

Democrats have launched a sweeping probe of Trump, an aggressive investigation that threatens to shadow the president through the 2020 election season.

Yet, he did not rule out the possibility that the Trump daughter could eventually be part of the probe.

The document requests Monday targeted such high-profile people in Trump's orbit as convicted former campaign chairman Paul Manafort and the recently indicted political consultant Roger Stone.

Venezuela's Guaido begins journey home from Ecuador
Venezuela's National Assembly declared Maduro a usurper in January and invoked the constitution to hand the interim presidency to Guaido.

"She's not on the initial list, that's all we can say", Nadler said of Ivanka Trump.

In a tweet on Sunday, Trump blasted Mueller's Russian Federation investigation, calling it a partisan probe unfairly aimed at discrediting his win in the 2016 presidential election.

The House judiciary committee calls the probe a congressional obligation, and an investigation into Trump's clear law-breaking.

Cobb was notorious during his White House days for predicting the Mueller investigation was near an end - then revising his prediction for a new deadline.

The advisers were asked about a wide variety of topics from Trump's early months, including Comey's firing, election interference and Mueller's investigation.

Trump's former personal lawyer Michael Cohen, in explosive congressional testimony last week, implicated the president in illegal activities, including a scheme shortly before the 2016 election to pay hush money to two women who say they had affairs with Trump.

The House and Senate intelligence committees found no evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian Federation. The person declined to be named to discuss the committee's internal process.

Mr Nadler, whose committee has the power to conduct impeachment hearings, also said it was "very clear" that the president had obstructed justice.
