Casey holds slender lead at Valspar Championship

Casey played in the final pairing Saturday and will again have a spot in the anchor tee time during the final round, this time with Johnson.

"That's why I work and I do what I do, because I want to play against the best in the world".

Austria's Sepp Straka took advantage of a depleted field at the Valspar Championship, firing a bogey free five-under 66 to seize a share of the first round lead with Joel Dahmen. "Having won this, my mindset now is I've won it, I have nothing to lose", Casey said.

Chikka leapfrogged 33 places, while Madappa, who won his maiden Asian Tour title previous year, went up eight spots.

Knox, a two-times PGA Tour victor, said it was not his first albatross, recalling that he made one at the final hole on his home course near Dunbar. He was one shot behind at 67. When he chipped in from a greenside bunker for birdie at the par-five fifth hole, his 14th of the round, he took sole possession of the lead.

Scott Stallings (68) and Sungjae Im (67) were one shot behind, while Dustin Johnson overcame a rough patch early in his round with five birdies on the front nine to salvage a 69.

Anirban Lahiri made a superb birdie-birdie start but was unable to keep the momentum going, finishing Tied 23rd in the second round of the Valspar Championship here.

Dahmen is playing a course he had never seen for the third straight week.

Nick Taylor of Abbotsford, B.C., was the low Canadian, firing a 70 to head into the third round tied for 23rd at 1-under par.

Families of the victims have been frustrated by the delay as under Islam bodies are usually buried within 24 hours. President Donald Trump as a symbol of "white identity". "But he will, when I speak, be nameless", said Ardern.

On the 475-yard par-4 16th, Vermeer had a bogey after hitting the green in 3 and two putting, moving Vermeer to even for the round.

Ben Silverman of Thornhill, Ont., Adam Hadwin from Abbotsford, Adam Svensson of Surrey, B.C., David Hearn of Brantford, Ont., and Canadian-American dual citizen Austin Connelly all missed the cut. The cut fell at one-over 143.

Donald has been battling injury and has only made three PGA Tour starts this season. It was the centerpiece of a resurgence for Casey, a 41-year-old from England who is back among the top 15 in the world. After consecutive birdies on 10th and 11th, Lahiri gave away shots on 16th and 18th. "If you can just minimize those, it puts you in a good position", Casey said. He's been No. 1 longer than Jason Day, Jordan Spieth, Ernie Els and Vijay Singh, players with a combined 71 more wins than he does.

Russell Knox made a double-eagle two on the par-5 11th hole on Thursday, the first in tournament history. There was a reason for that. I thought it was just going to drop in the high edge.

"Getting into Match Play was big", Knox said. It was deep. It wasn't ... I thought it was flawless.

But Casey's lone bogey came on his closing ninth hole, finding bunkers with his first two shots and missing a six-footer for par.

Straka and Dahmen also played in the morning on a day when almost all the best scores were posted early, before a breeze and firm conditions created a stern afternoon test.

"It was sick. That was dope", Bhatia said, adding that he hopes he can hear that at the Ryder Cup "in five, six years down the road".
