Samsung unveils its foldable phone, the Galaxy Fold

The phone has a 4.6-inch smartphone screen which opens up to a 7.3-inch AMOLED Infinity Flex display.

Huawei has just unveiled the Mate X, which is the very first rival to the Samsung Galaxy Fold that was announced earlier this month. But the Mate X is only 11 millimeters thick when folded, much thinner than Samsung's 17 millimeter Galaxy Fold.

Huawei didn't make the brand new telephones out there for analysts and journalists have been exclusively allowed to see on the units via glass partitions, which had been carefully watched by safety guards.

On the Galaxy S10 5G, the quad rear camera is comprised of a 12 MP regular camera, a 12 MP telephoto one (for 2X optical zoom), a 16 MP wide-angle shooter, and a 3D Depth camera (useful for 3D scanning, Augmented Reality, or gesture control). Huawei made sure to spotlight the foldable phone's 5G connectivity, an expertise on the heart of its quest for worldwide dominance within the smartphone market.

The BBC reports that the Mate X is set to go on sale at a starting price of £1996 ($2,600;) and is due to be released this summer.

Samsung took the opposite approach to Huawei by putting its folding screen on the inside of its device, with another smaller screen on the front panel for use when its is closed.

The Samsung Galaxy Buds will be available directly from Samsung, and they should also be available from all of the major wireless carriers and electronics retailers.

The Huawei launch drew huge crowds.

The new device, which will be released on 26 of April in the United States and 3 of May in Europe, has a 4.6-inch phone display that opens up to a to a single large 7.3-inch screen when unfolded. Reportedly, it has been appointed by Samsung to implement their Enjin Wallet in Samsung's new Galaxy S10 smartphone.

Samsung said it expects to launch the Galaxy Fold on April 26.

Huawei made no secret of the fact it is comparing itself to Samsung.

Ericsson (ERIC) Chief Executive Börje Ekholm says Ericsson will switch on 5G globally in 2019, and Chinese handset maker Xiaomi (Hong Kong: 1810) introduced a 5G model based on the existing Mi Mix 3 smartphone.

Huawei strongly denies the claims and is trying hard to persuade the world to use its 5G technology and not cave to pressure from Washington.

The phone aims to provide users with a larger, more portable screen, that also has the latest gadgets.
