Lindsey Graham Vows to Hold Hearings Over Alleged DOJ 'Coup' Against Trump

Trump's tweets came after former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe claimed during an interview with CBS" "60 minutes' on Sunday that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein was "absolutely serious" about secretly wearing a wire around Trump in order to gather support to remove the U.S. president from power.

Trump is lashing out on Twitter at former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, whose new book details his concerns about potential foreign influence over the president, and current Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who initiated special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation.

Trump reacted to McCabe's interview Sunday night, tweeting that he was telling "so many lies" and that his story is now "even more deranged".

"There's an allegation by the acting Federal Bureau of Investigation director at the time that the deputy attorney general was basically trying to do an administrative coup, take the president down (through) the 25th Amendment process", Graham said in an appearance on CBS' "Face the Nation".

At the end, though, Trump benefits from the news about McCabe, said King.

According to McCabe, in a lengthy interview that aired Sunday on CBS's 60 Minutes, Rosenstein brought up the possibility of invoking the 25th Amendment of the US Constitution, which provides for the removal of a sitting president for incapacity.

"Rhetorically, the president of the United States can not go around tweeting about people who are investigating his activities as being treasonous because we may have that as a fact at the end of this", Nance, who formerly served as U.S. Navy senior chief petty officer, said on MSNBC.

"If the president committed obstruction of justice, fired the director of the FBI to negatively impact or to shut down our investigation of Russia's malign activity - you have to ask yourself, why would a president of the United States do that?" he said.

The White House said Mr McCabe, who was sacked past year for allegedly lying to government investigators, had "no credibility".

In an interview with CBS' Scott Pelley on "60 Minutes", McCabe said Trump had been speaking in a "derogatory way" about the Russian Federation investigation for weeks, which they viewed as an attempt to "publicly undermine the investigation".

He said he believes the report by the FBI's Office of Inspector General used as the basis of his dismissal was biased against him.

"Disgraced FBI Acting Director Andrew McCabe pretends to be a "poor little Angel" when in fact he was a big part of the Crooked Hillary Scandal & the Russia Hoax - a puppet for Leakin' James Comey". And he did not believe that because President Putin had told him they did not. "At no time did I ever perceive that there was a legitimate effort underway by Rod [Rosenstein] or anybody else to remove the president under the 25th Amendment or in any other way", he said.

The Justice Department's watchdog has referred his findings on McCabe to the US Attorney's office in Washington for possible criminal charges.

In the Morning Edition interview, McCabe said he has an ongoing civil lawsuit against the Department of Justice over the circumstances of his firing.
