LeBron James drafts Dwyane Wade to play with him in All-Star Game

LeBron James drafts Dwyane Wade to play with him in All-Star Game

That left the third round and the decision between the two special additions to the game by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver - those being Miami's Dwyane Wade and Dallas' Dirk Nowitzki.

Team LeBron features many shooters, including James Harden, Kyrie Irving, and Damian Lillard.

After the Lakers buzzer-beater over the Celtics, LeBron told The Athletic's Joe Vardon on Thursday (February 7), "Those top teams in the East, yeah, they're going for it. Toronto is going for it, Milwaukee's going for it, Philly".

The most notable moment from the night came when James selected Davis, who was involved in trade talks to join James on the Lakers prior to Thursday's trade deadline. Last year wasn't televised, but fortunately, this year was, after James himself said it should be.

No one is more aware of LeBron James' impact on the National Basketball Association than LeBron James. "Every time I take a hit, I'm able to nudge it off and keep going", he said.

James, the leading All-Star vote receiver this season, had the first overall pick.

Lakers pump brakes on more Anthony Davis offers
You're going to have to give up a fortune to get Davis, and that's not worth doing unless you get him for the next several years. Davis will garner a super-max contract upward of $240 million whenever he lands.

The Milwaukee Bucks star then selected Philadelphia's Joel Embiid before adding Paul George and Kemba Walker.

After Antetokounmpo took Middleton with the first pick in the reserve round, he selected Nikola Jokic, Ben Simmons, Blake Griffin, D'Angelo Russell, Nikola Vucevic and Kyle Lowry. James was the No. 1 overall selection by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2003 National Basketball Association draft and Miami took Wade with the No. 5 pick in the same draft.

Barkley's suggestion prompted laughter from the two captains, who were tasked with picking four starters in the first round and seven reserves in the second round each.

"I didn't have to lobby for it", Wade said.

Charles Barkley also poked fun at LeBron, suggesting that if Antetokounmpo really wanted Davis on his All-Star team he could follow the Lakers' example.
