Freezing Rain Warning issued for London region

Snow or rain mixed with snow will fall at low elevations of the Pacific Northwest, including around the Seattle and Portland, Oregon, metro areas. Some areas of drizzle are possible today, but a much better chance for rain comes late tonight and throughout the today Monday.

There's a lengthy spell of freezing rain in the forecast for London and the surrounding area, according to a warning from Environment Canada.

Periods of freezing rain and sleet will be possible overnight and into Wednesday morning, when more slick roads are possible for the morning commute.

It may continue well into Wednesday before changing into rain in the afternoon. Watch out for icy spots on untreated surfaces. As temperatures rise during the day Wednesday any lingering showers will switch to plain rain with ice melting.

Areas of drizzle and freezing drizzle are expected to develop across south-central and eastern Kansas tonight.

As cold air moves in Wednesday night into Thursday morning any precipitation transitions to snow albeit not much accumulation. Winds NE 5-10 miles per hour. Some sun returns to wrap up the week, but it is going to be a bit colder. With highs stuck in the upper 10s to mid 20s and breezy conditions, wind chills will be in the single digits both above and below zero.
