Chelsea unhappy with Maurizio Sarri's treatment of Callum Hudson-Odoi?

Cesar Azpilicueta called Chelsea's 6-0 loss to Manchester City one of his worst moments as a professional.

City scored four times in the opening 25 minutes at the Etihad Stadium and twice in the second half to inflict Chelsea's worst defeat since 1991, with Sergio Aguero getting a hat trick and Raheem Sterling netting twice.

At Wembley, the win put Spurs five points off the top of the table as they try to catch pace-setters Liverpool and Manchester City.

When asked whether he fears being sacked, Sarri replied: "I don't know, you have to ask the club".

Chelsea have kept Hudson-Odoi at Stamford Bridge in the hope that the youngster will change his stance on an exit, but the player remains on the fringes of Maurizio Sarri's first-team squad.

Speaking at half-time of the Premier League clash between Chelsea and Manchester City, Carragher said the visitors' performance was a "disgrace". "You are asking me [about] something which is not my job".

The result proved to be Chelsea's third straight defeat away from home since the turn of the year and the Blues have conceded 12 goals without scoring during that insipid run. So now we need only to understand the reasons why at the moment it isn't working.

Maurizio Sarri's fate as Chelsea's head coach will in effect be determined over the remainder of this month as the Italian seeks to convince the club's hierarchy that he can recover some poise and still deliver Champions League qualification for next season.

"In the 20 minutes after the first goal we made a lot of mistakes against the wrong opponents because they played some fantastic football".

Jurgen Klopp's men maintain the advantage of a game in hand, but handed a reprieve by Liverpool's draws against Leicester and West Ham in recent weeks, City look determined to become the first side in a decade to retain the Premier League.

His 43 goals against the Premier League "big six" since 2011 is far and away the best return of any player during this period.

"We had only to stay in the match but the reaction was not good".
