A Winter Storm Warning for Genesee, Lapeer, Shiawassee and counties to the north continues until 8 p.m. Monday. The snow is expected to taper off across extreme northeast Alabama by late Tuesday morning.

The cold air moves in all day tomorrow keeping temperatures in the mid teens and colder from the morning into the afternoon. Minnesota temperatures could hit 30 below with a wind chill of 60 below. Wind chills in northern IL could fall to 55 degrees below zero, which the National Weather Service called "possibly life threatening".

Risky cold is forecast for Wednesday, too, with strong winds creating wind chills of -20 degrees to -35 degrees along with some snow. "The main thing right now is the cold". That could be the first day in 25 years that the daily high temperature remains below zero. The Chicago area-wide Wind Chill Watch for wind chills 50 to 55-degrees below zero takes effect beginning Tuesday evening and continuing through Wednesday and Wednesday night into Thursday morning.
