Trump Torches Elizabeth Warren Over Video Of Her Drinking Beer

He continued in a subsequent tweet: "Best line in the Elizabeth Warren beer catastrophe is, to her husband, "Thank you for being here".

Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., over her New Year's Eve Instagram livestream Sunday night, saying that the video would have been a "smash" if it had been done "from Bighorn or Wounded Knee instead of her kitchen".

Trump's tweets are troubling on so many levels, it's hard to even begin where to start - from mocking Warren's heritage and his use of the word "Indian" instead of the politically correct term Native American, to using the tragic Wounded Knee Massacre as a punchline.

Critics found that message jarring, even from a president who has repeatedly ignored calls from politicians on both sides of the aisle, historians and Native American groups to stop calling Warren "Pocahontas".

Up to 300 men, women and children were killed by cavalry in the Wounded Knee Massacre of 1890, while the Lakota Sioux, Northern Cheyenne and Arapaho tribes were pitted against troops in the Battle of Little Bighorn.

Warren is considered among the top Democratic contenders for 2020.

Kuchar extends lead at Sony Open
Leader Kuchar has enjoyed a new lease of life in the early part off the 2018-19 season. "I just couldn't keep up with him". Even so, the performance was big for the Listowel, Ont., native, who narrowly missed a full PGA Tour card past year .

On the day the live stream was posted, Warren had announced that she would be running for US President in 2020 - the first major candidate to do so. Bordeaux called Trump's tweet "racist and disrespectful", and demanded the president apologize for his "shameful and ignorant misstatement".

It still hasn't shut Trump up on the subject, either, with his latest tweets showing a nonchalance towards the USA government's past violence against Native Americans.

The National Congress of American Indians on Monday issued a statement denouncing Trump's reference to Wounded Knee.

President Trump mocked Sen.

Earlier this month, Trump posted a parody image of a Warren campaign logo mocking the results of her DNA test. This October, she took a DNA test to prove her assertions, a political mistake that alienated Native American communities and may have cost her a large swath of voters.

Trump's string of Sunday night tweets came at the end of a bruising weekend inside a snowed-in White House.
