Sony drops R. Kelly after furor over allegations

As of January 18, R. Kelly's name had been removed from the roster page of the official RCA site.

In addition to cutting Kelly from the roster, Sony vows not to release any new music from the disgraced R&B singer, per reports from both Billboard and Variety.

R. Kelly has been dropped by his record label, Sony Music.

Kelly had been signed to Sony since the early 1990s, and had been under contract with its subsidiary label, RCA Records, since 2012.

Lady Gaga, Phoenix and Chance The Rapper among other numerous artists have been asking streaming websites to remove their collaborations with R Kelly since the series came out. Whether his back catalog will remain with RCA/Sony, however, remains "unclear".

Kelly, 52, released his last album in 2016. Representatives for Sony didn't respond to requests for comment from Bloomberg, and R Kelly couldn't immediately be reached.

US Moves in Syria Irk Russia, Turkey
On December 19, White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders announced that the U.S. started to pull out its troops from Syria. Mr Trump's comments on Sunday followed further criticism of his abrupt decision to withdraw USA forces from Syria.

But the singer of "I Believe I Can Fly" fame - who recently announced a new album - has seen his reputation more and more seriously hard hit. "What I am hearing about the allegations against R. Kelly is absolutely horrifying and indefensible".

After the debut of the documentary series, protests against Mr Kelly ramped up.

Allegations of misconduct against Kelly have been public knowledge for decades now, but Surviving R. Kelly and the rise of the #MeToo movement appear to have marked a turning point. As a outcome of the series, many artists and former collaborators have chosen to condemn Kelly, including John Legend and Chrissy Teigen, Chance The Rapper, and many others.

It also details the relationship in 1994 between the late singer Aaliyah and R Kelly, who married him when she was 15 and he was 27.

But he was acquitted of all charges in 2008 and continued to make music.
