Microsoft prepares to End support for Windows 10 Mobile this Year

Smartphones running Windows 10 Mobile version 1709, according to the FAQ post, will be supported until December 10.

Bad news for the few people still using Windows 10 mobile.

Microsoft started gutting its phone business a year ago, making thousands of job cuts. The update, listed as Build 1809 brings with it a number of improvements to Windows, not least in terms of security and stability.

Not all devices will be supported through the end date, either.

MICROSOFT HAS QUIETLY ANNOUNCED that it'll stop supporting Windows 10 Mobile for good in December this year. Third parties or paid support programs may provide ongoing support, we're told, but these won't be publically provided updates.

There's no better indication that the Windows phone is dead than a support document recently published by Microsoft itself. There will be no more product or security updates for the Windows 10 Mobile operating system.

Atletico Madrid in advanced talks to sign Alvaro Morata?
The Londoners face Arsenal in the Premier League this weekend before the second leg of the EFL Cup semi-final against Tottenham. Atletico Madrid are prepared to offer not one but TWO of their players for Chelsea's Alvaro Morata . "You know what I mean".

Now, a month later, 1809 has started showing up on some Windows 10 PCs that relied on the consumer-grade Windows Update service. If you own a Windows 10 Mobile phone you should know that it will be possible to use it after the date of December 10, 2019, but you should know that you won't receive any new updates. Microsoft apps on iOS and Android are exceptionally well supported, and offer features not seen on Windows Phones today. Microsoft simply couldn't sell enough Windows Phones which brought a massive issue along with it beyond the lack of sales revenue. However, features like photo uploads may continue to work for an additional 12 months after the end of support. The vast majority of applications for this platform are no longer updated, because the developers abandoned them back in 2016 - 2017, zareklis never have to deal with Microsoft on mobile platforms.

Even though Windows Phone and Windows Mobile were responsible for some neat styles sporting heavy contrast and some affordable devices, it failed to gain traction, partly because app developers just didn't make the jump.

The company states that it will now be focusing much more on supporting its mobile apps for Android and iOS platforms.

Windows 10 was released as the successor to Windows 8.1 in July 2015.

Phones affected by the withdrawal include the Microsoft Lumia 640, 640 XL and the Lumia 535.

Microsoft's Corporate Vice President in the Operating Systems Group Joe Belfiore tweeted; "We have tried VERY HARD to incent app devs".
