Ellen Forgives Kevin Hart As He Considers Hosting the Oscars

Hart, 39, stepped down from hosting the 2019 Academy Awards amid controversy over years-old tweets deemed homophobic.

In an interview on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show", released on Friday, DeGeneres said she recently called the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to advocate for Hart. In this case I just said I wanted to walk away because it was a conversation that was just going to continue and continue and continue. She says that the Academy told her they'd love to have Hart back and that the situation was "handled wrong". I had to address it and apologize and say I understand how those words hurt.

"I've taken ten years to put my apology to work". Either I can move forward as a person or I can't. "Because that was wrong".

"They're gonna win if you don't host the Oscars", DeGeneres said, referring to "trolls" online chastising Hart for his old tweets.

"What we're going to get to see onstage with you hosting the Oscars is sophistication, class, hilarity, and you growing as a person", DeGeneres said. "But I don't believe in going backwards".

Hart could theoretically return to the Oscars at any time and told DeGeneres he will "evaluate" their conversation.

The unconfirmed reports follow the controversy that ignited after the Academy announced in early December that Hart would serve as host for the 2019 show, set to air on February 27.

"Has Kevin Hart made any meaningful effort to reach out to the LGTBQ community and listen to their perspective on why his past comments are so offensive and damaging?"

But Kiev has accused Moscow of military aggression and says it seized the two gunboats and a tugboat illegally. Kiev has since constantly urged Moscow to release the captured sailors.

"I have no problem with her interviewing him provided it is a real interview", someone wrote.

None of that means, however, that Hart has no ambitions to stand upon the Oscars stage.

He added: "Either my apology is accepted or it isn't".

Ellen then replied with a blanket blessing of forgiveness on behalf of LGBTQ people everywhere. I don't want to have this conversation anymore because I know who I am. "The night will be about you, and it should be about you, and you should host the Oscars".

Degeneres, who is one of the most notable public figures within LGBTQ community, appeared to be content with Hart's interpretation of the events, and publicly took to social media to give the actor her endorsement. It's not being educated on the subject. you have grown, you have apologized again right now.

When DeGeneres tweeted about the interview on Thursday, fans had mixed feelings to the news: some commended DeGeneres for giving Hart a platform on which to speak while others argued Hart did not deserve the chance.

Adding that she's never one to buy into "mob mentalities" herself, McCain said that, for her, "Kevin Hart's apology hasn't really come up to snuff yet".
