Michigan Finishes Season in Top Ten of College Football Playoff Rankings

The Fighting Irish had their spot booked in the playoff a week before the other teams given they didn't play in a conference title game. The top four teams are expected to be announced at around 12:30 p.m., but that will not be when you learn about every bowl game.

Georgia last appeared in the Allstate Sugar Bowl in 2008, when it was in contention for a BCS National Championship as a two-loss team.

The Bulldogs will wait to find out their bowl destination later on Sunday, but this ranking means the Bulldogs are likely heading to the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans on New Year's Day.

The three were still bickering over the finer points of the deal just hours before officials were due to sit down and sign it. It's unlikely they'll axe USMCA in Congress, but they may see fit to fiddle with the agreement that keeps getting tweaked.

The final AP Poll of the regular season was released today, with Ohio State coming in at No. 5 in the final poll, trailing Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame and Oklahoma.

There were calls and plenty of lobbying most notably by ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit, to include Georgia into the morning's early hours.

The sports network said Georgia had the best strength of schedule of the three and Ohio State had the best strength of record, a statistic that measures how strong a team's record is given its schedule. But ultimately the same four teams that entered the weekend with flawless records completed the first day of December with zeroes in the loss column. Missouri made its season debut at No. 24.
