Golfer Jyoti Randhawa held on poaching charges in UP

Authorities are interrogating Randhawa and are also investigating whether any animal was poached.

Along with Jyoti, another national-level shooter Mahesh Virajdar was also arrested. He was previously married to Bollywood actress Chitrangada Singh.

As per preliminary information received by the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau, Randhawa, an global golfer and national shooter, and Mahesh Virajdar were arrested in a poaching case in Motipur Range of Katerniaghat.

Field director of Dudhwa Tiger Reserve Ramesh Pandey alleged that the 46-year-old golfer appeared to be in an inebriated state.

Randhawa has been ranked among the top golfers in the world and owns a farmhouse in the near the Dudhwa Tiger Reserve.
