Congress-ruled Madhya Pradesh may ban The Accidental Prime Minister

The Congress was quick to react to the same, with party spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala referring to the movie as "fake propaganda".

Directed by Vijay Gutte, The Accidental Prime Minister provides an intimate look of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his functioning during his tenure. The film, which is slated to release on January 11, features Anupam Kher, Akshaye Khanna, German actress Suzanne Bernert, Aahana Kumra and Arjun Mathur in lead roles.

Kher further said he is just an actor in this movie and has tried to play his part in the most efficient way.

He made it clear that the makers launched the promo only after due clearance from the censor board. The Maharashtra Youth Congress has demanded a special screening of this film before its release.

"If we make a film on the issue of Jallianwala Bagh or The Holocaust or any historic incident, we can't change the history or the facts".

His colleague, Congress leader P L Punia, accused the BJP of evading answers on its "mis-governance" after having failed on all fronts.

Out in the strait, Anak Krakatau (Child of Krakatau) was still erupting and authorities imposed a 2km exclusion zone around it. Most recently in the city of Palu on Sulawesi island a quake and tsunami in September killed thousands of people.

The trailer was well received by the ruling BJP, which tweeted the clip along with praises.

The trailer shows Manmohan Singh as a victim of the Congress' internal politics ahead of the 2014 general elections. BJP's official Twitter handle has shared a link to the trailer.

Anupam Kher wrote on twitter, "Ladies and Gentlemen!"

The trailer also shows glimpses of hard episodes in Manmohan Singh's tenure, mostly internal churnings in the Congress.

Asserting that Congress president Rahul Gandhi should tell the Maharashtra Youth Congress that they are doing wrong by objecting to the film, Kher said, "Recently, I had read Rahul Gandhi's tweet where he talked about the freedom of expression. Dr Singh's record & legacy won't be the product of one single movie or book", Abdullah tweeted. "I have put my life into it so these protests are upsetting", the actor said. Akshaye Khanna plays the character of Baru in the film and he is also the narrator.
