Australia vs India - 1st Test Match Preview & Prediction

"Mitch Marsh has not been as consistent as he would like and we would like", said Paine at his pre-match press conference.

Marsh's place in the side for the series-opener, which starts on Thursday, has been taken by middle order batsman Peter Handscomb, recalled for the first time since the tour of South Africa in March and April.

Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli and Australia Cricket team captain Tim Paine posed with the Border-Gavaskar trophy on the eve of the first test in Australia's Adelaide on Wednesday. Moreover, Australia are without the services of Steve Smith and David Warner, making India start as overwhelming favourites.

"We know he's good enough to be a genuine all-rounder at test level".

"We're taking the opportunity at the moment to actually send him back to play a Shield game, get some more cricket under his belt, knowing at some stage we're probably going to need him".

"The fans have absolutely voted with their feet the last few years that we have had day-night Tests, we have been significantly up for attendances", Bradshaw said.

"We're pretty sure Marcus Harris will make his debut which is very exciting for him", he said.

Countries accommodating United States weapons likely targets, Russian Federation threatens over nuclear treaty withdrawal
Putin went on to accuse the USA of planning to withdraw from the treaty and simply blame Russian Federation for their decision. However, Nato allies would have to agree unanimously to have any new missile deployed in Europe .

The two cricketers were on their way from a practice season at the Adelaide Oval to the team hotel, which is situated close to the iconic venue which will be hosting the first Test from December 6.

"They got through the Ashes previous year I thought and bowled a hell of a lot of overs", captain Tim Paine said.

"The quicks are going to have a bowl a bit more and we have full faith that (spinner) Nathan Lyon can do the job".

"It's probably unlikely we'll use the three quicks as much we will this game through the whole series as it wears on".

Based on recent Tests at Adelaide Oval, which have been played on a lush pitch designed with one eye on protecting the pink ball, Australia believe they do not need an extra bowler. "They'll also be under great pressure, I think".

"They haven't had great success in Australia in the past, as Australia haven't had in India".

"We have options there but we'll be backing our bowlers", Paine said.
