Man City can survive without injured De Bruyne - Guardiola

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola says the club will do everything they can to try and convince wonderkid Brahim Diaz to stay at the club.

Pep Guardiola's City, now top of the table with 26 points from 10 matches, host Southampton on Monday.

De Bruyne was making just his second start of the season, though City have moved top of the Premier League without him.

"We are sad for him, and nobody likes to have injured players but he will come back to the player he is and he will be fine", said the Spaniard in a press conference on Friday. The doctor said he was sad - today he was less sad and the next day he'll be strong again. Guardiola admitted that he is aware of Brahim's frustration: "As far as we are concerned, he's a very good player - that's our opinion of him".

"We have been a little bit harder on them in training with the chances that they have", he said.

"We want him, but at the end it doesn't depend on us; it is the desire of them - his agent, him, family, they decide". It's the desire of them, so we insist we want him.

In response, the driver takes a hand off the steering wheel and grapples with the woman for a couple of seconds. A search and rescue operation was launched on the Yangtze river near Chongqing in southwest China on October 28.

"He knew that from the beginning and he made a decision to stay".

City, the defending League Cup champion, will play either Leicester or Southampton in the quarterfinals.

De Bruyne was given a start, however, and impressed before his injury with his teasing crosses and passes.

"When you come back you can not expect in one day to be the player we know he is, he needs time to settle, take the rhythm, the pace". "It was the Kevin we know".

"Today he was involved in offense and defence, hopefully what happened in the last minute is not serious".
