Elton John Stars In This Year's John Lewis Christmas Advert

Elton John's "Your Song" is the centrepiece of this year's John Lewis Christmas advert.

That little boy is Elton John, finally ending months of speculation that he the musician is, indeed, the star of John Lewis's latest festive blockbuster.

It ends with a four-year-old Elton running down the stairs on Christmas morning and unwrapping his grandmother's gift of her piano - a scene "inspired by real events" but involving "some creativity", the department store said.

The advert is titled "The Boy & The Piano" and chronicles Elton's life from childhood where he actually gets his very first piano all the way to the present day. For now you can view it via one of John Lewis' partners.

John Lewis" flagship store on London's Oxford Street also changed its name to just "John', and shoppers were convinced they had sussed the ad out ahead of its release.

In a shift in media strategy, John Lewis employees will begin sharing the 140-second ad, created by adam&eveDDB in collaboration with Rocket Entertainment, at 6am before it goes live on John Lewis's own digital channels and in shops at 8am.

When I do that, I know I can beat anybody. "It's been a very enjoyable few days so far, not just for me but also my team". It has taken Federer longer to hit cruising speed in the second half of 2018, perhaps in part because of a hand injury.

The TV ad was shared by staff before it officially airs on TV tonight at 9.15pm on ITV. We are so ready to step into Christmas... "It could nearly be anyone".

The shop, along with 14 further shops across the United Kingdom, will also have a Yamaha piano for customers to play.

Set to the his 1970 single Your Song, the clip shows the music legend performing through the years before showing him as a boy playing the piano in school. However, the retailer says that figure is "wildly inaccurate" and that spend on the ad is broadly similar to previous years.

"When first approached to be part of it though, Elton requested that a portion of his fee was to be donated to the Elton John Charitable Trust".
