Disruption from winds set to continue around Wales

There's more wet and blustery weather on the forecast today with a yellow weather warning in place throughout tomorrow.

The wet weather is set to continue this weekend, with heavy rain being forecast for Portsmouth as December begins on Saturday. "Winds will moderate across the south of the warning area by evening and then across remaining parts overnight".

Diana will ravage the United Kingdom over the next couple of days, bringing gale-force winds to coastal areas and up two inches of rain in upland areas.

A similar warning has been issued for Wexford, Galway and Clare, although this warning is valid from 9am on Wednesday until 2pm on Wednesday.

Western parts of Britain, including Northern Ireland, south-west England, Scotland and Wales, are expected to bear the brunt of Diana's force on Wednesday.

Brits are set to endure a downpour and buffeting winds as Storm Diana hits the United Kingdom today.

Met Office meteorologist Alex Deakin said the second depression is expected to be even more potent than Diana, named by by the Portuguese Meteorological Authority (IPMA). Southerly winds will increase very strong with gale gusts. Heavy rain is also expected from midnight until around 7am.

"On Twitter, weather service WXCharts wrote: "#StormDiana will sweep through Ireland and the British Isles tomorrow with severe gales (touching storm force along exposed coasts) expected. Continuing very windy into the afternoon; but the winds will gradually start to ease a little later; but still fresh to strong and gusty by nightfall, with gales still in southeastern parts.

"If this occurs, gusts of 70-80 miles per hour could be seen, mainly in exposed locations, bringing increased likelihood of more significant disruption".

The shooting happened around 9:30 p.m.at the Riverchase Galleria in Hoover, Alabama, a suburb of Birmingham. Officers say there was already heavy police presence at the mall in preparation for Black Friday shoppers.
