California Bar Shooting Injures 7 Including Sheriff's Deputy

Patrons were seen being led out of the bar by deputies.

A sheriff's captain says at least 11 people - including a responding deputy - were shot late Wednesday when a suspect opened fire in a Southern California bar filled with college students.

"It was just some lowlife taking lives he shouldn't be taking", he said.

A gunman armed with smoke grenades and a handgun reportedly opened fire at a bar and grill in California, resulting in multiple injuries.

People gathered near the scene of the shooting, hugging and crying as red and blue lights from police cars flickered in the background.

It took months to complete the toxicology report, which revealed that Miller had the deadly mix of drugs in his system. The cause of Mac Miller's death back in September has been announced by the Los Angeles County coroner.

One witness said there were multiple shots fired inside the bar. Law enforcement and emergency crews were flooding the scene.

Borderline Bar & Grill is a western-style facility that hosts theme nights such as country, salsa and swing dancing.

Witnesses said they had spoken to friends who escaped the shooting, which took place during a popular student night at the bar.

It was college night and country two-step lessons were being offered Wednesday at the Borderline, according to its website.

Police told the Los Angeles Times that at least 30 shots were fired and the paper reported that people had been hit.

A witness told ABC7: 'I was at the front door talking to my stepdad. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
