Alec Baldwin arrested for punching someone over a parking spot

Actor Alec Baldwin was arrested and charged for assault and harassment Friday following a dispute over a parking spot, according to NY police. The DA's office told Heavy that charges would be announced following arraignment but that the process would likely "take some time". Being that you can't (allegedly) punch a guy over a parking spot, no matter how badly you wanted it, the cops were then called.

The "30 Rock" sitcom actor, 60, "assaulted someone for a parking spot that they were both going for", NY police department detective Sophia Mason said. Apparently, Baldwin's buddy was holding the parking spot near 10th Street and 5th Avenue when the other man took it.

Alec Baldwin is in custody right now after he got real aggressive with a man who stole his parking spot.

Baldwin also appeared in the Hollywood films Beetlejuice, The Departed and Glengarry Glen Ross.

Baldwin and Thomas married in 2012 and have four children. The News claims that the "two argued and when the victim went to a pay the parking meter, Baldwin ran up and struck him", they write.

In response, the driver takes a hand off the steering wheel and grapples with the woman for a couple of seconds. A search and rescue operation was launched on the Yangtze river near Chongqing in southwest China on October 28.

Baldwin, who portrays President Donald Trump on "SNL", also yelled a profane comment during the alleged melee.

When asked about Baldwin's arrest, Mr Trump is reported to have said: "I wish him luck".

This is not the first time the actor has been in trouble with law enforcement.

This is a breaking story and will be updated as more information comes in.
