Unai Emery puts Aaron Ramsey's Arsenal future on hold

Unai Emery puts Aaron Ramsey's Arsenal future on hold

Unai Emery has refused to criticise the Premier League for making his Arsenal side play three times in a week - even if he admits his stars will be unable to cope.

Arsenal's 5-1 win over Fulham in their last game before the global break was the ninth consecutive victory under Emery, and was played to the soundtrack of Arsenal fans singing: "We've got our Arsenal back".

So far, Arsenal have earned 18 points from the 8 games played so far and they hope to continue their winning streak when they welcome Leicester City to the Emirate Stadium on Monday 22 October after the worldwide break.

Away fans were heard singing "we have our Arsenal back" at Fulham's Craven Cottage, but Emery said he "does not agree totally with every supporter". If they decided we are going to play Monday we don't stop to think if it is better to play Monday or not.

Leicester are a very good team and play with a clear identity under Claude Puel.

"After, we are going to play Thursday, we are going to play Sunday also, two matches very quickly after Leicester".

"Our target now is the same as in the first matches", he said.

One midfielder that looks to be on his way out of the club is Aaron Ramsey, with discussions to extend his current contract now at a standstill.

United Kingdom and Ireland suggest Brexit talks will go to November
An announcement on what a possible deal could look like on the Irish border issue could be made as soon as Monday. The negotiations are reaching a critical stage ahead of next week's European Council summit.

Aaron Ramsey is very much a senior member in the Arsenal dressing room.

"My focus is every single match".

"If we are remembering the last match at the Emirates we won but not playing like we want - with the control against the opposition." he added.

"I want the mentality for the next match".

"On Monday [against Leicester City] it's the same if he starts in the first XI or on the bench, to come with the focus for this match to help us". "I want his performance like the other players. Individual things are not for now".

"The same with Mesut as any other player".

The 29-year-old missed Arsenal's win over Fulham due to a back spasm.
