Red Dead Redemption II had biggest opening weekend in history of entertainment

Now that all the numbers are in, Rockstar Games has revealed that Red Dead Redemption II had the biggest opening weekend in entertainment history - beating all other video games, movies, and music releases.

Federation Internationale de Football Association 19 has managed to retain its crown as the fastest-selling game in the United Kingdom this year despite a strong attempt from the highly-anticipated Red Dead Redemption 2 from Rockstar Games.

Red Dead Redemption 2 focuses on the events after a robbery goes wrong in the town of Blackwater. The game earned $725 million worldwide making it the biggest opening weekend in the history of entertainment.

Forward-looking: Red Dead Redemption 2 is off to an excellent start and in the long-term, could challenge Grand Theft Auto V as Rockstar's biggest moneymaker.

Asked about Mr Baker's amendments earlier on Monday, Ms Bradley insisted the bill was not created to change policies. But negotiators are at loggerheads on how this pledge will be translated into a legally binding commitment.

Red Dead Redemption 2 was released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One just a few short days ago, on October 26.

This is even before considering that Red Dead Online will be coming next month.

Although, Rockstar still says Red Dead 2 has the highest-grossing opening weekend, which is technically correct since GTA V was released on a Tuesday - so its $1 billion launch occurred during weekdays.

Rockstar also reports that according to Sony Interactive Entertainment, "Red Dead Redemption 2" set records for highest ever pre-orders, highest day one sales and highest sales for the first three days in market on the PlayStation Network.
