Pentagon to send about 800 troops to Mexican border

They are traveling mostly by foot on a route that originated with about 200 initial migrants seeking to escape gang violence in Honduras.

The caravan arrived at the Guatemala-Mexico border Friday.

Almost a third of all people apprehended at the U.S. -Mexico border during the budget year 2018 were families and children - about 157,248 out of 395,579 total apprehensions.

Sleeping on cardboard boxes or plastic bags, the migrants set up a massive, impromptu camp in the southern town of Huixtla, 70 kilometers (45 miles) from the Mexico-Guatemala border. "We pay hundreds of millions of dollars to all of these countries and they don't come through for us", said the President. That's despite threats by the president to declare a national emergency or rescind aid from the countries whose people are journeying north.

The caravan of migrants moving from Central America to the United States through the Mexican territory now includes around 3,630 people, the Mexican Interior Ministry and Defense Ministry said.

The president also reiterated his claim that Middle Easterners who could pose a danger to us residents have infiltrated the group.

On October 22, he tweeted: "I have alerted Border Patrol and Military that this is a National Emergy [sic]".

President Trump tweeted Monday morning that the United States would begin slashing foreign aid to countries "not able to do the job of stopping people from leaving their country" and joining a caravan of thousands headed towards the U.S.

The officials were weighing the legality of certain steps President Donald Trump's administration could take and looking at whether any processes could be changed to speed up the removal of migrants who have no legal basis to remain in the US, CNN quoted the DHS official as saying on Wednesday. When we defend our own rights, they persecute us.

In addition to the foldable Galaxy F, Samsung might be cooking up something in its own labs that no smartphone has just yet. There is no trackpad in the Keyboard Cover, so you'll have to rely on the S Pen, touchscreen or can add a Bluetooth mouse.

That process can last weeks, and migrants are supposed to stay where they register while applications are processed. In his rallies over the past week, Trump has baselessly accused Democrats of somehow organizing the caravan. "We are not letting people into the United States illegally".

That program has not officially started, but Pierce said it's another sign of the dire options awaiting the caravan migrants.

There is no evidence that Democrats, donors or other political actors are providing financial support to caravan for political gain.

"President Trump will not stand for this to happen to the United States", Pompeo said.

She added: "Their quest for safety is being used to great effect by President Trump, potentially impacting on the U.S. mid-term elections".

Trump, who was elected by stoking fears about immigrants, has been eager to make immigration a top issue heading into the midterm elections next month, which will determine which party controls Congress. Trump and senior White House officials have long believed the issue is key to turning out Trump's ardent base of supporters.

Children appear to make up only about 5 to 10 percent of migrants in a caravan traveling through far-southern Mexico. We have to leave our country because it's very unsafe. With a homicide rate of 43 per 100,000 citizens, Honduras is one of the most violent countries in the world.

"All the people of honduras who are here want to live the american dream", he said.
