Numbers drawn for $470 million Powerball jackpot

In California, for example, the lottery on Thursday sold US$5.7 million in Mega Millions tickets during the first half of the day. But the ever-increasing jackpots have left them ever-more dependent on those massive payouts because prizes that once seemed so enormous now seem nearly puny in comparison.

Powerball, which holds the record for the largest US lottery prize of $1.586 billion in 2016, will hold a separate drawing on Saturday. McIntyre welcomes the attention, but the jackpot soaring to $1 billion has proven problematic in one sense: at least two billboards that advertise the jackpot ran out of digits.

The numbers have been drawn for Saturday's estimated $470 million Powerball jackpot. One ticket purchased in California matched the five white balls and Mega ball to win on July 24.

Mega Millions entry tickets operate like an online lottery in some states, whereas in other states, tickets must be bought in person.

Winners of the jackpot could take the cash option and walk away with $905 million or have the jackpot paid out over 29 years.

Elizabeth Warren, typical white person
Phony! ". "Nothing like that ever happened, that was clearly not the use for it, and so I stopped checking it off", she said. Carlos Bustamante tells Warren " the facts suggest that you absolutely have Native American ancestry in your pedigree ".

If there is a winning ticket, the holder or holders can opt for 30 annual payments or a lump sum cash prize.

The previous largest single jackpot of $758 million (£580 million) was won last year by Mavis Wanczyk, a 53-year-old mother of two from MA. The chance of matching all six numbers and taking home the grand prize is one in 302.5 million.

Tickets cost $2, which seems like a relatively small price to pay for a chance at becoming rich.

The Mega Millions numbers that could win an estimated $1 billion jackpot have been announced. Given that the odds are so heavily against you, it's likely not a good investment to buy a ticket.
