Maharashtra women’s panel asks Nana Patekar to respond to sexual harassment allegations

Describing the #MeToo movement in India as the beginning of a "wrong practice", BJP MP Udit Raj on Tuesday supported actor Nana Patekar and questioned actress Tanushree Dutta for speaking up after a decade.

The incident can be traced back to the year 2008, when Tanushree Dutta was shooting with Nana Patekar for a song in the film Horn Ok Pleassss.

"If you desire, we would readdress your grievances by conducting a fair and expeditious inquiry in a joint meeting where both the parties and both sides (ie you and Mr Nana Patekar), also since you mentioned the names of Mr Rakesh Sarang (director), Mr Ganesh Acharya (choreographer) and the producer Mr Siddiqui".

According to Dutta's advocate Nitin Satpute, the actor will be giving a statement to the police on Sunday.

In his complaint, Kumar, who recently shot with Patekar in Jaisalmer for their upcoming movie "Housefull 4", told the police that during questions and answers at an event, someone asked him about a well-known actress from Bollywood, but later that part was uploaded on YouTube in an edited form.

The actor has approached the cyber cell at the Bandra Kurla Complex and filed a complaint against the morphed video.

Interestingly, the actual Switch Online app lists compatible NES games as.NES files in plaintext. The online service also brings with it a library of NES games, all launched from a single app.

"When he was touching me indecently and unnecessary I felt very uncomfortable because of his behaviour, I felt he has outraged my modesty", the letter read.

"Dutta visited the police station last night and submitted a written complaint", Shailesh Pasalwar, a Mumbai police inspector, told AFP.

But to her surprise, new steps were introduced by Acharya, which were intimate and included Patekar touching her inappropriately, she alleged. He also added, that if any girl goes through sexual harassment, she should speak up about it and take the charge.

We were then taken to the police station and my statement was recorded but not as per the complaint. The video was edited to show Akshay reacting to the ongoing controversy.

"After the above incident I was under tremendous shock and I suffered psychological trauma and was unable to take work and suffered huge monetary loss in crores", Dutta said in the letter. Nana Patekar's lawyer has already sent a legal notice the actress for maligning the image of his client and has demanded publicly apology from her.
