Lindsey Graham slammed over 'single white man' remark

Graham's defenses of Kavanaugh echo those of President Donald Trump, who has repeatedly called his nominee an "outstanding" person and slammed the allegations as a "con job" by Democrats to derail his confirmation.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Trump agreed - and the president directed the Federal Bureau of Investigation to examine "all credible allegations" against Kavanaugh. It's 36 years old. "What you saw yesterday, particularly on the right side of that Committee, was passion before reason".

The Republican from SC then turned his attention back to Kavanaugh and asked: "Are you a gang rapist?" And that partisan divide was painfully evident on September 27.

"It's the beginning of a process that will tear this country apart", said Graham of the Kavanaugh hearings.

Swetnick claims she was at a party when she was in college and Kavanaugh was in high school where she was the victim of a gang rape and Kavanaugh was present.

Mr. Graham said that if Mr. Kavanaugh's accusers are serious, they can file a complaint against him in Maryland, where there are no statute of limitations regarding sexual assault.

While the White House initially signed off on the plan, Mitchell was recruited and hired by the committee. Democrats lauded Ford's testimony as credible, courageous and, in the words of Sen.

All of the Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee were widely supportive of the nominee, but it was Graham who really gave a game-changing speech.

"That's illegal, inappropriate", Graham said on ABC's "This Week", reported The Huffington Post.

Yes, we understand that people of good will are glad that Federal Bureau of Investigation agents will actually interview Kavanaugh's high-school pal Mark Judge and other potential witnesses named by Christine Blasey Ford (as well as, it seems, by his Yale accuser). And his message to them on September 27 was clear: either you are with our tribe, or you are against our tribe. He will forever be known as the man who helped pave the way to a conservative-controlled Supreme Court for an entire generation.

But Senate Democrats argue one week may not be enough time, with some saying they're concerned that the White House may be dictating the terms of the investigation. In the season opener, which also featured Matt Damon playing Supreme Court nominee Kavanaugh, McKinnon does her best to ridiculously portray Graham's enraged colloquy with the judge last week over allegations of sexual assault against the judge. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) launched into a fiery speech, chiding both Democrats and Republicans for their conduct in this debate on allegations of sexual assault against him.

But Graham alleged the Democrats' handling was all about politics.
