Jose Mourinho's Manchester United problems are more than a lack of confidence

The Champions League could've offered a positive distraction for supporters but instead Manchester United were held to a 0-0 draw against Valencia at home.

"At the moment I don't see enough of them really digging deep and saying, "right I am going to take this game by the scruff of the neck, and make something happen".

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes slammed Jose Mourinho ahead of the Red Devils' UEFA Champions League clash on Tuesday night, and the Portuguese has since responded.

Admitting he too was at fault for United's poor start to the season, Mourinho took some responsibility for backfiring tactics and team selection which he had previously defended adamantly.

United sit 10th in the Premier League, nine points behind pacesetters Manchester City and Liverpool.

"We knew that we wouldn't create 20 chances".

The increase will apply from 1 November to all staff, full and part-time, as well as temporary and seasonal workers. But corporate profits in the US are booming, and that wealth isn't being spread out almost fast enough for many.

"We anticipate everything that it could be unsafe, in the sense of arriving late but we were informed the police refused an escort".

"We knew that our attacking players aren't in the best individual form and confidence".

"We tried to play but in some crucial positions in the building up phase we don't have the technical quality to build from the back".

"We have Newcastle before the league stops (for the global break) then we have Chelsea and Juventus in three days".

The result left United second in the group on four points from two games, two behind leaders Juventus who maintained their ideal start with a 3-0 home win over Young Boys.

Speaking on BT Sport tonight, Paul Scholes launched a scathing attack on José Mourinho, claiming he is "embarrassing the club". "It will be good for the team if we can beat Newcastle", he said.
