Jon Favreau Officially Reveals Live-Action 'Star Wars' Series Title

The series which reportedly begins production this week is set to debut exclusively on Disney's upcoming direct to consumer streaming service.

"After the stories of Jango and Boba Felt, another warrior emerged in the Star Wars universe", the post reads. Favreau's new Instagram post contains even more new details, specifically that the show will follow a "lone gunfighter". And in March, it was confirmed that Iron Man, Elf and The Jungle Book director Jon Favreau would write and executive produce it.

Mandalorians have long been revered characters in Star Wars canon and legends, though their presence in live-action films has always been largely a mystery.

This confirms earlier rumors from Making Star Wars that the show would be set on the Outer Rim planet of Mandalore.

Lindsay Lohan says ‘don’t f**k with Pakistan’ before getting punched by ‘refugee’
The actress had been riding in a vehicle in what TMZ has said is Moscow when she spotted a homeless family by the roadside. Having had enough, the family pick up their belongings and begin to move away from her. "I won't leave until I take you".

At least those looking for more diverse representation in the galaxy far, far away can take heart from the fact that every on-screen representation of Mandalorians thus far has shown them to be people of color.

Favreau's text would place The Mandalorian in the 30-year space between Return of the Jedi (4 ABY) and Force Awakens (34 ABY). Bounty hunter Boba Fett, a cult favorite from The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, wore Mandalorian armor in honor of the tribe. Favreau revealed through his Instragram the series will be called The Mandalorian along with the official synopsis.

Favreau is intensely familiar with these stories, having voiced Death Watch revolutionary leader Pre Vizsla in The Clone Wars.

Star Wars Rebels fans are probably hoping that the new character will somehow be related to Sabine Wren.
