Bell not expected back with Steelers this week

He rushed for 1,291 yards with nine touchdowns over 15 games in 2017 with the Steelers, his fifth year in Pittsburgh.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are inching closer to the expected return of star running back Le'Veon Bell, which has created more dialogue around the starting running back spot once he's back in the fold. Reports originally indicated that Bell would join the team at some point during its week off, meaning he has the whole week to show up.

ESPN's Adam Schefter first reported the news.

If Le'Veon Bell's goal is to make life as hard as possible for the Pittsburgh Steelers, he's certainly succeeding. Bell can return any time between Monday and the following Monday, Oct. 22 to be eligible to play on October 28 in their rematch against the Browns. With the exception of Todd Gurley, Bell is the most dynamic running back in the NFL. Multiple reports say the Steelers aren't expecting him back until next Monday, at the earliest.

Unai Emery puts Aaron Ramsey's Arsenal future on hold
If they decided we are going to play Monday we don't stop to think if it is better to play Monday or not. Individual things are not for now". "The same with Mesut as any other player".

Bell has deployed a strategy that has kept Steelers officials and players in the dark, with no contact with any of them, according to sources.

Eventually, Bell has to return, right? "I still do want to go out there and win a Super Bowl with the Steelers".

Bell hasn't signed his $14.5 million franchise tag while preserving his health for a long-term contract in Pittsburgh or elsewhere. James Conner has played well in his place, establishing himself as a dual-threat weapon.
