Sophie Turner is villainous in Dark Phoenix trailer

Sophie Turner debuted the very first trailer for "Dark Phoenix" on "The Late Late Show, ' and the "Game of Thrones" star managed to get even more badass". Does this look like the X-Men move we've waited for? The company has been waning in the world of superhero blockbusters, but the new addition shows that it still has ground to cover with its mutant-filled universe.

Sophie Turner's Jean Grey takes centre stage as we see her development into a young woman struggling with deep conflict. Both X-Men: Days of Future Past and the absolutely awful follow-up X-Men: Apocalypse, essentially blew-up the film franchise timeline as we previously knew it.

While it's unlikely the Selene of Dark Phoenix will be depicted as a 17,000-year-old mutant "goddess", we can probably expect her to retain her ability to psionically drain her opponents of their lifeforce, and absorbing that energy into her own body.

I'll put a slight spoiler warning here because, while I have no knowledge of what happens in the film, these Dark Phoenix images appear to make a suggestion about a major plot point. This is all connected to the previous X-Men series, and brings back a few of the characters from the most recent movies.

The movie adapts the iconic "Dark Phoenix Saga" story, written by Chris Claremont, Dave Cockrum and John Byrne, which also inspired 2006's "X-Men: The Last Stand". Wrestling with this entity inside her, Jean unleashes her powers in ways she can neither comprehend nor contain.

Tanushree Dutta Names Nana Patekar As Alleged Harasser 10 Years Ago
Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan on Thursday refused to comment avoided on fellow actor Nana Patekar harassment claims. She was shooting what was supposed to be her solo song (later performed by Rakhi Sawant ) when Nana Patekar was on set.

It adds: "With Jean spiralling out of control, and hurting the ones she loves most, she begins to unravel the very fabric that holds the X-Men together".

Things then took a turn for the worse for the Fox Studios movie when one Marvel fan took to Reddit to set the record straight after various conflicting reports.

"They're right to fear me".

Jessica Chastain plays a still-unknown mysterious villain in the film, while James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, and Jennifer Lawrence all return as Professor X, Magneto, and Mystique, the mentors to the new superheroes (Jean, Storm, Cyclops, and Quicksilver). So let's just hope that X-Men goes out with a bang in Dark Phoenix, you can find out for yourselves February 14 when the movie hits theaters.
