Ramirez came forward with her allegation in The New Yorker, telling the publication that Kavanaugh exposed himself to her at dormitory party while the two were undergraduate students at Yale.

Your public statements clearly reveal how unimportant it is to you to review any facts related to this nomination.

President Donald Trump announced on Friday that he would direct the Federal Bureau of Investigation to conduct a supplemental background check into Kavanaugh.

Mr Kavanaugh is accused by Christine Blasey Ford of sexually assaulting her decades ago.

Kavanaugh has denied all of the allegations.

The Utah senator said one "key reason" that has caused him concern over potential delays was learning during last Thursday's committee hearing that Ford would have preferred to have been interviewed privately in California, rather than at a televised committee hearing.

It also gives cover to wavering Republicans like Sens.

Judge Brett Kavanaugh is sworn in before testifying Thursday to the Senate Judiciary Committee during his Supreme Court confirmation hearing in the Dirksen Senate Office Building on Capitol Hill. When Flake endorsed Kavanaugh's confirmation this morning, it looked like a game-over moment: the stage was set for a final confirmation vote as early as tomorrow, and the prospect of a re-opened FBI investigation was effectively dead.

Trump said in a statement that the updated investigation "must be limited in scope" and "completed in less than one week".

The Hawks won't be the only ones in the Earl Thomas sweepstakes, as he has been linked to the Cowboys for quite some time. Dallas reportedly already offered a second-round pick for Thomas, but the Seahawks wanted more.

On Friday, United States President Donald Trump ordered the FBI to conduct a supplemental investigation into Kavanaugh over Christine Blasey Ford's sexual assault allegation. Committee spokesmen did not return a request for comment to elaborate on what specifically those allegations are.

According to NBC News, another restriction the White House has set bars the FBI from investigating Kavanaugh's account of his drinking habits during high school and at Yale University. They have hired many of his former clerks for their own chambers. As the Senate Judiciary Committee prepared to vote, members began leaving the room to hold private conversations, and lawmakers began even shielding their mouths from lip readers in the audience.

Walsh continued, per CNN: "However, the simple and unchangeable truth is that she is unable to corroborate it because she has no recollection of the incident in question". His account has been particularly sought after because, unlike Kavanaugh, Judge has not denied Ford's allegations but has said he has no memory that such an assault occurred. But he says he's not the one who attacked her.

"Look at me and tell me that it doesn't matter what happened to me", said 23-year-old Maria Gallagher, a volunteer with a liberal advocacy group. "His face was white and very uncomfortable saying "hello" back".

"I was sexually assaulted and nobody believed me".

Ford has a therapist's notes from a marriage counseling session in 2012 in which she discussed the alleged event without naming Kavanaugh and she passed a polygraph test.

Connecticut Democrat Richard Blumenthal, a Democrat on the Judiciary panel, said an FBI investigation "has to be more than a sham, and a charade".

The new investigation by the FBI is a limited background check of Kavanaugh, not a full-fledged criminal inquiry.
