Jurgen Klopp scoffs at Gary Neville's suggestion

"The Champions League - if I was Liverpool, I would kick it into touch", Neville said.

Tottenham look set to continue with second-choice goalkeeper Michel Vorm for the visit of Premier League rivals Liverpool in the Premier League this weekend.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes too much demand is placed on global stars who have had barely any rest following the World Cup.

The Sky Sports pundit believes Klopp should forget about the league and instead target a 6th European Cup after just missing out last season. Other games include Watford v Man United, which is a must win for Mourinho as he could be sacked by United soon.

Klopp found the suggestion from the 43-year-old, who having had a spell as England assistant coach was sacked after three months as Valencia boss, laughable. I don't think they can challenge on both fronts with the way they play, unless they adapt and they change: the way they play at 100 miles an hour from the first minute to the last minute, it's very hard to do that Saturday-Wednesday-Saturday-Wednesday. How do you prepare a game and not focus on it?

Liverpool FC are aiming to be one of the main contenders for the Premier League title this season after they finished in fourth place in the table last term and without a trophy.

Nagy and Vic Fangio deserve credit for calling a masterful first half that put the Packers all the way back against the wall. The Packers' defense, in new coordinator Mike Pettine's first game, held the Bears to two field goals in the second half.

"We are disappointed because we're going to miss him for this game and possibly Inter Milan in the Champions League, but it is not a big issue". The club he's more interested in.

"Everyone knows I'm no Liverpool fan but I respect, understand and appreciate what's going on there", he said.

Klopp did admit, however, that he will have to make full use of his squad with a Champions League group stage opener against Paris Saint-Germain looming on Tuesday. We get so much information, we can see how the players react in different situations.

"He comes from another league, a completely different system which Monaco played, and we have a good team together so that takes time".

I think it'll be tough but if they were to go of the Champions League and they had free weeks after Christmas, Saturday-to-Saturday they could be a real threat this season to City.

"From my point it is all fine, but I know the situation isn't what some people expected but I can not change that".
