Samsung can’t believe Apple Pencil doesn’t work with iPhone

Samsung is betting everything on the Galaxy Note 9 in a saturated market where all smartphones are more or less the same. AT&T and Verizon are doing buy-one-get-one-free promotions, and Sprint is doing a 50-percent off the monthly payment plan, but every single one of those promotions starts at Samsung's listed price of $999 (or $1,249).

The phone is available for pre-order from 9 August, and the 128GB variant will be available for £899 while the upper-range 512GB device will sell for £1,099. Those who reserve a unit can get the Samsung Gear Sport smartwatch for INR 4,999 ($72), instead of the usual INR 22,990 ($333). The Note 9 respectively gives you the choice of either 6GB, 8GB of ram and 128GB, 512GB storage space which is a lot. HDFC bank customers can get INR 6,000 (~$87) cashback by paying with their credit cards.

The Samsung Galaxy Note will be available from 24 August in Midnight Black, Lavender Purple, Metallic Copper with matching S Pen, and Ocean Blue with a Yellow S Pen. This is said to be more efficient than the passive cooling on the on the Note 8.

You can choose between two sizes, 60,000 watch faces and any strap you want. In the Galaxy Note 9, Samsung has packed a bigger battery than the previous edition.

According to a new teaser on Flipkart, pre-orders for the smartphone will begin during its Freedom Day sale.

Trump puts pressure on Turkey by doubling down on tariffs
At one point, it was down as much as 19 percent on the day, before rallying a bit to bring it to "only" a 13.7 percent loss. Turkey's currency crisis has lurched on to the global stage, denting European and USA stocks as fears of contagion rise.

Firstly, the Note 9 ships with a new and improved S Pen, which comes with Bluetooth LE (Low Energy) baked-in for the first time.

Samsung even boasted that it controlled its Note 9 presentation using the banana-a-like stylus, before announcing that it plans to open up the SDK to developers so functionality can be built into third-party apps. For shooting selfies, it is equipped with autofocus enabled f/1.7 aperture 8-megapixel camera.

The Galaxy Note 9 is a large device - especially when compared to the Galaxy S9 and Apple iPhone X - and packs an impressive array of hardware and features. Or, you know, your finger. The phone also comes paired with fast-charging technology compatible with both wired and wireless charging. It can be used to take a photo, Play/Pause YouTube videos, go through slides in PowerPoint. That means, during the setup of your phone, you will be asked for your Spotify login details and the music streaming experience will therefore be completely set-up without you having to download an app manually.

"The jury is still out if the device can boost sales of Samsung's premium category", mobile phone market tracker Counterpoint Research said in a blog, pointing to stiff competition from the iPhone X, Huawei's P20 Pro and the Find X from China's Oppo Electronics.
