President Donald Trump says he wouldn't recommend his former personal lawyer Michael Cohen.

Speaking to NPR, Davis added that, "Mr. Cohen would never accept a pardon from a man that he considers to be both corrupt and a unsafe person in the Oval Office".

The Supreme Court in 1997, ruling in a sexual harassment lawsuit brought by Paula Jones against President Bill Clinton, held that a sitting president could be made to answer questions as part of a lawsuit.

Mr Cohen pleaded guilty to eight eight charges in relation to paying ex adult film star Ms Daniels an eye-watering sum of $130,000 in hush money.
