President Kenyatta Wraps Up Washington DC Visit After Bilateral Talks

During the visit President Kenyatta will also meet executives of top USA companies to promote Kenya as a preferred investment destination.

Despite Trump's personal background and style, these religious leaders are mostly on the President's side.

The Kenyan delegation that accompanied President Uhuru Kenyatta to the meeting with US President Donald Trump on Monday, August 27, for trade talks between the two countries has been put on the spot for failing to take notes.

It was a pleasure having First Lady Margaret Kenyatta at the White House today.

Kenyatta shared some of the significant issues discussed with Trump and business dlegations in the USA including regional security, tourism and investment.

Mr Trump stated that he did not want to meet ever again with someone exhibiting that trait, the London-based newspaper reported, citing three unnamed sources for the disclosure.

Trump also pointed to what he called a "massive roadway" infrastructure project in Kenya as a sign of the countries' ties.

The multi-billion agreement will see US Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) and Kipeto Wind Energy Company finance the construction and operation of a 100-megawatt grid-connected wind power plant south of Nairobi. Kenya is the third highest recipient of U.S. security aid in sub-Saharan Africa, according to the Security Assistance Monitor. Almost 100 Kenyan police officers have been killed since May 2017 in bombings and ambushes.

Kenyatta is set to host British Prime Minister Theresa May on Thursday.
