Mollie Tibbetts' Family Offers $172,000 Reward for Information Leading to Her Return

Mollie Tibbetts' Family Offers $172,000 Reward for Information Leading to Her Return

Her family and friends are posting flyers, talking to people and doing media interviews to spread awareness about the 20-year-old. At least 40 individuals and businesses have contributed to the reward fund, according to Greg Willey, VP of Public Relations for Crime Stoppers Of Central Iowa.

"If someone has abducted her, we are pleading with you to please release her", Ms Calderwood said.

"At this point, we don't know her exact whereabouts but we continue to look".

When asked whether he had a message for his missing daughter, her father, Rob Tibbetts told HLN, CNN's sister network, "Just hang in there, pie". Sometimes I just feel her sitting on my shoulder. "I knew her phone was dead, but I sent her a text saying, 'I love you".

But he also believes the case will be solved by someone who comes forward with new information. "It seemed like a totally normal night", he told the network. We're fighting like hell. "If someone out there is holding Mollie, and they're in over their head and they've made a awful mistake, you can end it now before it goes any further", he said. "Don't compound it by dragging this out another minute. You would do anything to get her back and you would just be desperate for anything to come forward to get her back", he added.

Tibbetts has not been seen since July 18 when she went jogging in Brooklyn, the small town in Iowa where she was living.

Richard Rahn, special agent in charge of the Iowa Department of Public Safety's Division of Criminal Investigation, said data from Tibbetts' FitBit, a GPS-enabled activity tracker, has been "helpful" and could be "key" in locating her. So far, there's been no trace of her.

She announced an A$233,000 reward for her return. She was last seen wearing dark coloring running shorts, a pink shirt, and running shoes.

Investigators have constructed a possible timeline in the case.

There is a large police presence off of Highway 21 in Poweshiek County, Iowa. Investigators have reached no conclusions about why she has disappeared.

Calderwood said the recent weeks have felt like torture.

"I can't tell you how much we appreciate you", he said.
