Manchester United tell Jose Mourinho to develop players at Old Trafford?

Jose Mourinho insists Paul Pogba remains happy and motivated at Manchester United despite reports claiming the France star is unsettled and wants to join Barcelona. This is a club, or a chief executive, or a board who have not pushed the boat out just that little bit extra for a player, who is a fantastic all round player, attacking, defending, strong, powerful, plays a lot of games and has just played in a World Cup Final 12 months later.

"This list of the injured players is an important list and today after training I will speak with that group of players because everybody is different - physically and mentally - and to see how available they feel they are because their feeling is very important and understanding how they think they can help or not help".

Mourinho warned last weekend that a "difficult season" could lie ahead if they failed to strengthen the squad before the deadline, but an inflated market has made the challenge of improving defensively an even tougher ask.

Mourinho now though goes into tonight's game with the five central defenders he had previous year and the same full-backs who all gave him issues.

"He didn't have a pre-season, three days of pre-season", Mourinho said.

Rae left after its seventh year, however, explaining later, "I needed some time for the rest of my life". My mother, sister , and my uncle died of pancreatic cancer. "I had attractive wigs", Rae said.

The move was created to ease disruption in the first few weeks of the campaign after a number of high-profile players, including Alexis Sanchez, Philippe Coutinho and Virgil van Dijk, missed matches at the start of last season due to transfer speculation. For nine days he didn't he's to start again. "But when you are nine days without one minute of training or football, you go back and start with the other people".

However, United had no intention of letting the midfielder go, a point manager Mourinho affirmed, though he added that the Frenchman may not feature against Leicester at Old Trafford.

"That's one of the worries when you're signing players. There is something going on behind the scenes and I don't think Woodward is helping Mourinho as much as we really think".

'Now that I know my team-mates, I can focus on what I want to win. "We have a very good squad, with very good players and it is very hard to add players to that", he said.

In stark contrast, and as he feared, United boss Mourinho was unable to land the central defender he craves and could come face to face with his prime target Harry Maguire when the Reds host Leicester in tonight's Premier League curtain-raiser.
