Iran lawmakers remove labor minister from office

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei speaks during Friday prayers in Tehran September 14, 2007.

The first batch of sanctions was snapped back on Monday, August 6.

On Tuesday, US President Donald Trump wrote on social media that "anyone doing business with Iran will NOT be doing business with the United States".

"With regard to our situation do not be anxious at all".

"They can be sure".

His Tuesday morning tweet came as Washington's new sanctions on Tehran took effect overnight.

USA officials have said in recent weeks that they aim to reduce Iran's oil exports to zero as a means of pressuring Tehran to halt its nuclear and missile programmes and involvement in regional conflicts in Syria and Iraq.

In November, a second batch of potentially more damaging sanctions will be reinstated on Iran's port operators, and the energy, shipping, and shipbuilding sectors.

Iran's foreign minister has said the United States will not be able to prevent the country from exporting oil.

MoviePass will limit everyone to 3 movies a month
Last week, MoviePass announced subscribers would be limited to certain blockbuster film within the first two weeks of release. In the press release announcing its new plan, the company said "the new plan will include many major studio first-run films".

Mr Zarif added the idea of halting the exports of Iran's most valuable goods "simplistic and impossible" and will lead to "consequences".

"We still think that it is a mistake to give up on the nuclear accord with Iran", Maas said in an interview with the daily Passauer Neue Presse.

Rouhani hinted last month that Iran could block the Strait of Hormuz, a major oil shipping route, if the USA attempted to stop the Islamic Republic's oil exports.

Despite not saying which consequences the U.S. will face in his latest statement, Iran had previously warned it could block the Strait of Hormuz, widely used by the regional states to export their oil and gas, as a comeback against the sanctions.

Lankov said North Korea has been selling arms to Iran at least since the mid-1980s, including missiles used by Tehran during the Iran-Iraq War.

Already facing broad economic fallout as their currency implodes, Iranians are wondering how the next phase of the crisis in USA relations will play out - and what, exactly, America's long-term strategy is toward their country.

The Iranian rial fell to a record low late last month, dropping in value by half since April, leading to sharp price increases and fast-rising inflation. Zarif said that Oman and Switzerland have acted as mediators in talks with America in the past but that there are now no direct or indirect talks being held with the United States.

Ri's trip to Iran was the first by a senior North Korean official since President Hassan Rouhani was re-elected past year.

In comments carried by the Office of the President, Rouhani was said to have praised the two countries' "friendly and heartfelt relationship" and mutual support for each other, while warning that Washington should not be seen as trustworthy.
