The Best-Selling Products from Prime Day 2018 (So Far)

Shoppers experienced everything from the main Prime Day homepage failing to launch to product searches returning zero items or product links leading to error pages.

Prime Day 2018 got off to a rough start on Monday with all the problems Amazon was having with its website.

Prime Day was introduced in 2015 in the USA as a one-day only sales event claiming more deals than Black Friday to celebrate Amazon's 20th anniversary. Online furniture seller Wayfair introduced Way Day in April, becoming its biggest revenue day ever.

The action adds to Amazon's Prime Day difficulties.

"Below is a selection of deals members can expect to find on Prime Day", Amazon says.

Prime Day also usually helps boost the number of Prime memberships.

On Tuesday, workers at six Amazon warehouses in Germany walked out, joining those already taking industrial action in Spain and Poland.

Although Van Avermaet retains yellow for now, it was in truth a dismal day for BMC. The upcoming seventh stage runs from Fougeres to Chartres.

Monday also saw Amazon's market capitalisation rise to $888bn, making it the world's second most valuable company after tech giant Apple, valued at $940bn.

But for every $1 iPhone charging cable, for every 20-minute deal on weird psychedelic bedsheets, Amazon's already copped to the coolest and most important deal to snap up on Prime Day of all: Not having to do a hard thing.

Inc. sales rose sharply during the first three hours of its Prime Day sales event, dispelling fears that the technical glitches that incensed shoppers would significantly hurt business.

Perhaps the most exciting discounts, however, are on Amazon's more expensive devices.

Shoppers took to social media to complain that they couldn't order any items. It's predicted to reach $3.4 billion in sales this year, according to retail think tank Coresight Research - that is, if enough people can manage to make their purchases.

The internet powerhouse ran into some early snags Monday afternoon, as deal-seekers flooding Amazon's servers ended up getting images of dogs along with the words, "Uh-oh".
