Severe weather over but rain continues

The front will push southward Wednesday night into Thursday morning bringing areas of rain and scattered strong storms, a few with large hail and gusty winds before midnight.

"High dew points and oppressive humidity are expected through the remainder of the week", forecasters wrote.

Today: A few a.m. showers, scattered p.m. showers/storms. There are many at the moment, and more are possible as the rain continues for another day. A few heavy rains could produce isolated flooding along the I-25 corridor, but the best flooding concerns remain in the mountains and on the burn scars. As this moves out, and with the loss of daytime heating, any stray shower would end in the evening, then the skies will clear out. Temperatures are in the upper 70s to lower 80s. "There may be heavy downpours with some of the showers which may cause localized flooding". Wednesday, our next more significant weather-maker will be on the way.

Highs will be in the upper 80s. Additional cloud cover will likely keep Northeast Alabama in the mid to upper 80s for highs.
