Motorola brings out Moto E5 Play with Android Go

Motorola brings out Moto E5 Play with Android Go

While the Moto E5 Play started out as a USA exclusive smartphone, it is now launching in European and Latin American countries, but this time it runs Android 8.1 Oreo (Go edition) instead of the full Android Oreo. Besides, considering the nature of the market the phone is launching in, I expect the E5 Play Go version to be highly successful. The downgraded versions of the apps are vital in ensuring that the apps fit in the storage of the mobile phone, which is usually very low in Android Go smartphones. While the Google Play would suggest users to go with third party light apps, the phone comes preloaded with Google Assistant Go, Google Go, Google Maps Go, Gmail Go and Youtube Go, all of which are designed by Google.

The Moto E5 Play is one of the first devices with Android Go to ship this year, and is the first device from Motorola to run the lightweight operating system.

Compared to the standard variant of the Moto E5 Play, which features a 5.2-inch display (16:9 aspect ratio), the newer version now comes with a 5.3-inch screen with an 18:9 aspect ratio. So, it's called Android Oreo (Go Edition). You can also expand the internal memory up to 128GB thanks to microSD card support. These are the same set of cameras offered with the earlier launched Moto E5 Play.

Israel strikes Hamas military targets in retaliation for rocket attacks
Palestinian media said the IDF had shelled the home of a senior Islamic Jihad leader, but there was no confirmation from the army. Four Israelis were wounded when a rocket hit a house in the city of Sderot near the Gaza Strip , authorities said.

Both smartphone features a similar design and comes with the rear-mounted fingerprint sensor underneath the Moto logo. Other specifications like the processor and RAM, have not been specified.

As mentioned, the Moto E5 Play with Android Oreo (Go edition) will be available in European and Latin American markets starting this month. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. It could pack a 2800mAh battery and water-repellent coating on its body.
