Ahead Of Summit With Putin, Trump Calls China, Russia And EU

President Donald Trump named the European Union as a top adversary of the United States and denounced the news media as the "enemy of the people" before arriving in Helsinki on Sunday on the eve of his high-stakes summit with Russia's Vladimir Putin. He and his wife, Melania, spent the weekend at a golf resort Trump owns in Turnberry.

Trump and Putin will meet on Monday in Helsinki for their first stand-alone meeting since Trump took office in January 2017.

"I think it'd be a moot point; I don't think Russian Federation is sending anyone back over here for trial, the same way we wouldn't send anybody over there for trial", the Kentucky senator said Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union".

US President Donald Trump has described the European Union as a foe on trade. Alongside Russia and China, Trump mentioned the European Union, which includes several of the oldest, closest allies of the United States, when asked about the country's global foes.

"Whoever says we are foes is spreading fake news", Tusk, who is also a former Polish prime minister, wrote on Twitter.

Why, exactly, is President Trump sitting down with Vladimir Putin in Helsinki on Monday? As for Russian Federation, it's a "foe in certain respects". China's a foe economically, certainly they are a foe.

Friday's charges against the 12 Russian officers alleging they hacked Democratic computer networks in 2016 represented the most detailed US accusation yet that Moscow meddled in the election to help Trump. It doesn't mean anything. "It means that they're competitors", Trump told CBS anchor Jeff Glor on Sunday.

Cristiano Ronaldo Is Leaving Real Madrid for Juventus
The 33-year-old Portuguese signed a four-year deal with the Turin-based club. "They have been nine unique years", added Ronaldo. I'm leaving, but this shirt, this crest, and the Santiago Bernabeu will continue to feels these things wherever I am.

Others on the United States side sought to lower expectations, attempting to downgrade the summit to just a regular bilateral meeting, given that no major achievements are likely. "As we welcome the presidents to the summit in Finland, we want to remind them of the importance of free press".

In the interview with CBS, Trump said he "might" press Putin to extradite the indicted Russians.

For Trump, the formal meeting with Putin is an opportunity to develop a closer working relationship with the Russian president.

On Friday, a federal grand jury charged 12 Russian intelligence officers with hacking Democratic computer networks in 2016, increasing pressure on Trump to raise the matter with Putin. So having meetings with Russia, China, North Korea, I believe in it.

He also blamed the Democratic National Committee for "allowing themselves to be hacked". And, as he has continued to assail traditional American allies for (supposedly) treating the USA unfairly, he has consistently given Putin the benefit of the doubt, insisting that he believes his unconvincing denials of election meddling.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller is investigating U.S. intelligence findings that Russians conspired to sway the 2016 election in Mr Trump's favour.

Graham Brookie, who served on President Barack Obama's National Security Council and now directs the Digital Forensic Research Lab to combat Russia's disinformation, was disappointed that Trump did not reiterate USA policy rejecting the annexation of Crimea.
